Professor Hannu Kari is professor of data processing at the University of Technology of Helsinki. He spent 3.5 years participating in the design of the GPRS standard and is also credited by some as being the inventor of the Mobile Wide Local Area Network (MWLAN).

OT: Running the Mensa Club of Greater Helsinki is a very
demanding task, lots of responsibilities, a task
somebody has to bear the burden of.

Well, only 4 members(Jäsenet), great improvement in or simplification of the Bell Curve or statistical,
or unupdated bug?? (hhk seem to have grabbed the national test-glory.fi??)

Btw, note that finnish has a different way of
building sentences than most germanic languages, especially
in terms of how the words relate to each other, all
those funny it,of,to,from, but and admit words, the
thoughts the writer was thinking and what the reader might
think of when reading, or is expected to think, when
connecting the words.

Some claim that the brain is hardwired differently at early
stages, like cats born blind but sorting out the neurons
in a couple of weeks. (me thinks it was Perot who introduced
this aspect of prenatal and child care in US, once again,
after that normal 100 or 2000 years and the neanderthal cocktail parties on the same topic)

Some even claim a real finn thinks differently as a result
of that more precise, but as a result, difficult to
translate language.
(claim by a norwegian linguistic in the 80s, but he had a
finnish wife, might explain much of it)

For more on finnish certified geniuses I typically point to
the 1700s and Chydenius.

Anyway, hhk is a popular guy, just like the Jippii
and WLAN Arto-professor.
(Btw, Yrjö Neuvo was once a professor too, defender of
the typical median, not much for averages)
