Max, I was surprised by the relatively upbeat tone of The Dismal Scientist's assessment of the Beige Book: dismal.com Of course, I don't know if my high opinion of Dismal.com comes from their accuracy and unbiased positions, or from the fact that I agree with them most of the time. ;>] Chain Store Sales come out tomorrow. Do they make seasonal adjustments for back-to-school and such? When Ma and Pa Consumer stop charging at Sears and K-Mart, it's gonna get ugly. Doug
