This guy,
Alan Shawn Feinstein,
is well known here in Rhode Island.

Big time philanthropist, but he is one of those guys that seems to insist that every project he gives money to is named after him or someone else in the Feinstein family. You can't turn a corner in Rhode Island without coming across a Feinstein school, or library, or building or legal services program....you name it. He even does TV commercials.

Apparently, he gives away A LOT of money to worthy causes....but is one of these guys that makes sure the coins make a loud noise when they hit the collection plate.

Ohmigod, that's appalling, Brian. So dragging the dollar to the pig is out. But this one is also Feinstein's:

helpthehungry.org

I wonder if it will go out of business soon.

I just sent Mr. Feinstein a testy email at asf@intap.net

There are still many good click-for-charity URLs here:

quickdonations.com

Of course eventually, when the last of these corporate sponsors has figured out that nobody clicks on the banner ads, this sort of charity will end.
