Think of your investment in AMD as one that is as likely as not to go to zero. And think what that extra 20% gross units, as well as the ability to price without competition, will do for my Intel investment.

I don't think that's quite fair. You might have a point when talking about some applications, but I think Intel has done well so far in getting many popular consumer apps to be optimized for the new micro-architecture. You might want to consider the mental imagine of a car stuck in second, unless you give it a special kind of gas.
