Bill Gates is a nerd and a geek. No one seems to mind including Mr Gates. A person who devotes his or her life to learning code and writing code wears both titles as a badge of honor. Seclusion causes a separation with reality because of the long hours of study, which are required to achieve expert status. They actually live their work. The focus required is intense so if you ask a geek how the weather is, don't be surprised if you receive back a "duhh" response. :-) I have some links Ill find that describe this.
