Ali, many servers use flow directors made of fiberboard(called cardboard incorrectly in the other) in addition air is infinitely malleable and can be readily directed as a cooling fluid by such ducting. Take a look at a few low profile servers. I think some also use styrofoam flow directors.
Nothing wrong with this at all.
The use of fiberboard or styrofoam will save money for a part that needs little structural strength.
Just what is needed for a competitive market place.
