It was the first halt after the introduction of circuit-breakers in 1987. However, it was a circuit-breaker shutdown, not a discretionary shutdown -- in other words, it was automatic. Earlier on the same day thay had already had one 30 minute ciruit-breaker halt. The second came at 3:30, so the exchange was halted for another 30 minutes.
