Bob thanx-- but are the y/y comparisons still valid? In other words, were the 01 earnings less than the 00 earnings from the same holding company. BTW, I saw a lecture on TV about Putin and the oligarchs from some professor who seemed to know what he was talking about. His claim was that Putin was an extension of Yeltsin and a tool of the oligarchs. He did make some insightful comments about the Russian political/economic condition and it was essentially that Russia isn't yet stable. fred
