You prefer a mental lightweight spoiled rich kid ex-alcoholic slacker and oil industry stooge to McCain?
McCain who has the guts to stand up to his own party machine which is so correupted by soft money every policy they have is written by industry lobbyists? McCain the one who daresa to tell the pigs to quit their corrupt addiction to soft money because it's selling out the people and our entire system of democracy? Who learned himself the hard way many years ago during the S+L debacle? Bush has the arrogance to tell us he stands on principles. Who is the one really standing on principles? Name one thing Bush has done which isn't either a payoff to soft money donors or a blatant act of pandering to special interest voter groups?
Where did this "screw loose" rumor start, the Rush Limbaugh character assassination attack squad? Remember, Rush and his ilk ARE the party now. They are fed this stuff by character attack central. The are the same ones who gave us "Oxy Al", "Buddhist Temple Al? and "I invented the intrenet". All lies and politics is a dirty game but think of who they are really protecting, the special interests that aim to hurt you and your kids and make you their tools. It is a shameful thing when the GOP asassins attack McCain. He has done nothing any great man wouldn't do, that is ignore party politics and stand up foe the right thing. And if you want to defend record amounts of soft money and records amounts of negative disinformation ads on TV you've gotten pretty cynical in your old age. Poltics has always been a tough game but these days it's become so corrupt that the truth doesn't stand a chance. The dishonest spinning would be much reduced if campaign finance reform were law, not the watered down version but the real thing. Then we could listen to information instead of false advertising. And democracy could flourish again. This isn't liberal, convervative or anything else, it's just what America should be all about. Honesty. Honest Abe started the GOP. Types like Bush-Cheney and the people running their propaganda might just finish it. McCain may not be as telegenic as Bush (with a script to read) but he is the best thing the GOP has going and voters respect him now. Which is exactly why the party bosses and the Limbaughs of the world are trying to destroy him. They want to keep their fat snouts right in the public trough and fool us all. But we aren't fools. Or are we?
