Not an expert, but fairly well informed. For example, two of the most popular social- conservative primary challengers were not from the Fundamentalist milieu: Gary Bauer is a Roman Catholic, and Alan Keyes is an Episcopalian. What this says to me is that, although there is plenty of social- conservative sentiment to tap, some of it affiliated with organizations like Focus on the Family, nevertheless, there is not a very organized faction capable of putting up its own candidate and putting him among the top three contenders. So, how much organizational clout can there be? The reason there was no reply from my buddies is because it means nothing to them. There was nothing to say......
