Dear Wanna_bmw:

Show me the Intel ASPs for Q2. For Q1. For Q4-00. Whoops, Intel does not publish these facts. You have to make do with estimates. Face it! Intel does not give out such needed information to compare to its hard competitor which states these numbers overall. Intel does not even give out actual numbers of units sold either overall or by line. This gives their reports a lot of wiggle room.

If unit demand ramps up by 10% or so, they might break even QoQ in Q3 revenue. So far, all current reports show that to be untrue. All they would be guilty of is hoping for the best. If it does not make it, they could simply warn that the estimates are out of line given the just presented info. Both Intel and AMD have been guilty of this in the past. The only difference is that AMD gave the worst case scenario as the bottom end of their estimates, Intel just did not give the market flat to down estimate.

Its just another apples to oranges comparison (mid case to down vs mid case to high).
