08:47 ET Merrill on Telecom Capex : Firm cutting its estimates on Telecom capex spending for FY01 to $104 bln from $110 bln and for FY02 to $91 bln from $100 bln. Looking for Yr/Yr declines of 10.6% for 2001 and 12.9% in 2002. Cites scaling back in large service providers cap spending; next generation providers completed build out or are bankrupt; weakening economy and tighter cap markets are being felt most be next generation, CLEC, and infrastructure players.

Good morning dealie...things have been a little too morose around here and some of the rocking chairs are squeaking a little too loud for some folks. After reading the QCOM thread, it would appear that JW has either gone off line or taken up residence elsewhere. Too bad, but life goes on. I hope he comes back. Maybe a little break will be good for him.

The market will be the market and most of us believe that it will go up sooner or later (probably much later). What I can't understand, though, is why everyone is in such a hurry.

I personally would like to revisit the days past where lemonade (spiked or not) ruled and the heaviest thing around was the summer humidity.

vive le porche!
