The message of the cross may be the major issue for you, but it certainly is not the only issue in the Bible. There must be thousands of prescriptions, proscriptions, behaviors, practices included. You may believe that it all means exactly what it says, or something like that. If so, why are there so many who wrestle with what exactly it is saying? Perhaps the infallibility is in the infallible ambiguity of it all.

So why are there so many different sects of Christianity? I think Martin Luther's big idea was that you don't need someone else to interpret the bible for you.
