Another fine example of liberal reasoning(?). "I don't like those facts, so let's throw them away."

lower levels of taxpayers who pay zero,
I presume you are referring to lower income types getting a free ride and expecting the productive members of society to pay their way?

wealthy individuals whose social security component is approximately 0% of their income
Let's see. They pay nothing in, so they will get nothing out. Is there a problem here?

their tax bill on tax-free securities is zero
True. Of course, gov't is the one who set things up so those securities are tax free. As in tax-free MUNICIPAL BONDS, right? And because they are tax-free, they can pay a lower interest rate than taxable bonds. Which lower the tax bill for those who do actually pay taxes.

Oh. Since you are not one of those, this IS a problem. Sorry.

their health costs are also approximately zero percent of their income
Are you talking about welfare recipients here, where I get the bill?
Because if you're talking about the wealthy, the only way I can see that happening is because they are working or did previously work and this is one of their benefits.

Garbage in garbage out.
There's certainly garbage here, but it wasn't produced by WSJ.
