I think, in a way, he was doing just that. He used the word WE rather than I, with the implication that he was speaking for all of us there. That is the kind of presumption that others find off-putting.

I think by having only the Christian prayer, there is a definite statement being made that this is the "right" prayer, the right faith. Too bad for the rest of you heathens.
The more I think about this today, the more I wonder if I SHOULD have called the principal and asked why that was done- non-confrontationally of course :)

I agree with Karen though, that I see it as a matter of etiquette and thoughtfulness, something we could all use a great deal more of in our lives, rather than rights.

So- I will politely let this little piece of religious flatulence go unremarked upon any further and hope that with maturity, the boy will learn that he need not use every opportunity to rub his particular faith into the faces of us infidels- and that sometimes it is more CHristian to not be so blatantly so.
(If that made any sense at all.... rushing here! Y'all stop being interesting, please)
