From MetaMarkets commentary in response to GM CFO:

General Motors President and Chief Financial Officer John Devine said that the strong U.S. dollar "frankly can destroy the manufacturing capability and manufacturing competitiveness of this country," according to the Associated Press. Devine said the dollar, which has risen about 30% against other currencies in the past four years, gives foreign competitors too much of an advantage.
