NO -

It should. But it wont. Hell it should have broken down
today. I'm skeptical about this close. The DOW pulled
the NAZ up as far as I am concerned. THe SOX looked
like $hit today until the end.

Barring any unexpected bad news the markets should
hold up tomorrow.

Probably Not - Unless We Get Heavy Volume

They can run - but they can't hide.

But will the close be higher or lower than today's?

The market will probably meander along within a tight range similar to today.

However, I do have puts, so this is a no-lose situation for me, at least for a day.

I will say:

Intraday: Yes

EOD: No

How do you count that ? Yes & 1/2 or No & 1/2 ?

or is it a wash ?

RE: Allan's Poll (something just sounds funny about typing that...As long as I don't say it with a lisp I guess it's O.K.) <g>

My reply: No.

My answer is weather related...
It's been miserably hot and humid in NY. A friggin' heat wave that sucks the life out of you.
At some point the suits have to walk from their Jaguar or Benz through the oxygen depleted air and into their office.
It it then that their mood shifts as they struggle to breath for approximately 5 minutes as they hustle to get back into the A/C.
This causes their boxer shorts to get mildly soaked with sweat and ride up with each fast paced step.

Everyone knows that you don't buy stocks when you feel uncomfortable like that.
You sell them.
Notice how yesterday the market came back around the same time it would typically take for the boxer shorts to dry out and for the large investors to have time to adjust themselves (a.k.a. visit the can and remove wedgie and tightness in crotch).

Today the heat wave has broken. Should only hit 90ish instead of 103 like yesterday.
If any of the tidy whitey traders show up to work today, instead of heading out to The Hamptons, they may be pumping the biotechs for a little while in the morning...
On Fridays, Volume dries up faster than boxer shorts in Air Conditioning. Therefore, we will not break through any lower support.

So there you have it. No, we will not violate any lows.

P.S. Allan, kindly keep your poll away from my donut...

Poll Results

Although it does not close until 8:29et, I expect that we'll not be getting any votes from here on out. If we do, I'll repost. The question yesterday was:

Will tomorrow, Friday, violate today's low or not, using the S&P cash as a basis?

The 33%/66% split is about the same as last week where we had a 30%/70% split. Good to see more people taking a chance on a vote this week. Don't be wedded to your vote though. Much more important to be nimble and make some money.
