One has had experiences both as host and guest, and I know that as a guest, I would hate to have someone held hostage to my idiosyncrasies, and therefore have limited expectations of disrupting his routine....... Yes, the magnanimity of the guest. It's a nice trait on both sides, but I still think the host bears the greater responsibility. Seems to me that the best result is for the guest to say "please don't bother on my account" and then for the host to say "nonsense, it's the least that I can do." Then they can both feel good that both were willing to be inconvenienced for the other. After which it doesn't really matter what practical solution they pursue. What's lacking in this prayer thing is that kind of good will. Karen
