As far as "unused capacity" goes, I'm not aware of it (in fact, the operators have been milking production from existing capacity to the greatest extent possible. As far as nuke plants going down for maintainence in unusually large numbers over next 6 months, could be true. It's true that power output from nuke plants has been at record levels (makes sense economically, the better to milk those sky high electricity rates). However, whether the down part of the cycle will cause a new bull in gas remains to be seen, that will depend on the economy in general not tailing off into recession. Still it's an important factor to keep in mind and it might at least bring some support/demand into the gas market that isn't generally recognized.

Today leverage was defined, yet again. Kinross had a 10.5% move on the day -- to Goldcorps tiny <lol> 5.9% move and Meridian came in at a minuscule 5.3%, at one point in the day Miramar was up 17%!
