2001-08-08 18:11

He said that the floor selling price of the 3G license set at 5% of the turnover is so high that it might affect the quality of services provided 3G operators and quantity of clients.

Asked about the company's need for financing, he said that as it has been recording profits and running healthily, it does not need to seeking funding for the 3G license or development of the infrastructure.

He continued that the average revenue per user (ARPU) in the voice service market is on the downtrend, affecting the company.

The company's intention to launch the inter-network short message service (SMS) has been postponed to August owing to technical problem.

The company will continue to operate mobile services under three brand names: 1010, 1+1 and One2Free. It has no intention to integrate the operations.

He added that whether the company would impose other fees besides tunnel fee would depend on market situation. However, it has no immediate plan to impose new charges. He reiteratd that it was not under pressure to axe employees.
