08:01 ET Goldman Cuts Software : Goldman Sachs analyst Rick Sherlund cutting numbers on software sector; says street estimates don't yet capture magnitude IT spending constraints, particularly given anecdotes from Europe. For Oracle (ORCL 15.99), cuts database server growth to -5% from flat for Aug qtr, applications to flat from 5% (vs Oracle's 15% guidance), FY02 EPS cut to $0.46 from $0.48 (consensus is $0.50), EPS cut mitigated by cost control. For Siebel (SEBL 29.77), cuts FY01 to $0.56 from $0.60 and FY02 to $0.60 from $0.70 (consensus estimates are $0.59 and $0.73).

OT to jp...Nice to hear from you. Last basketball (womens) season was fun to watch. Got some credibility by playing the Vols in the 2nd round. We got the same team for this coming season minus 1 player.
Hope all is well with you and yours. Don
