so your point is it's the last mile that screws up the situation? What about the consumer behaviour? Where's the cash flow to feed this cow in the event the last mile will be bridged?

I agree with you that as broadband becomes available, some will want it, especially if it's inexpensive. After a couple of years of waiting for DSL, we have cable broadband and I love it, love it, love it. Now DSL is available but it still costs more. Some people at my office have DSL and they love that. For example, Fairfax County land records are now available online, only $25/month. It's crazy to drive to the court for research if you can use the Net, but using dial-up for accessing massive image files is insane-making.

It will happen little-by-little - if there is an application they want, people will get broadband, if they can.
