I agree.

This Saturnine gloating over the (in large part imagined) misfortunes of others is one of the nastiest exhibitions I have seen on SI. The only more obnoxious person I have encountered was apparently arrested by the NYPD for making false accusations against people whose real names she had managed to learn, as a result of quarrels on SI.

Depending on what OPEC does, "black gold" could have a long way up to go, especially in terms of declining dollar. Because natural gas is produced and priced within the United States, mostly, and because Canada's economy is so tied to that of the US, a dollar crash would not affect it as much. But as of now we can't drive cars or fly planes with NG. And we may pay through the nose with depreciated dollars for the oil.

Gold is the most perfectly useless stuff, unless you need some dental work, and it is increasingly easy to produce.
