Yes, for real all right. Right after the Naz breaks down through support, there's a rally apparently based in part on a phone call between ML and TXN. The market shoots up, just in time for the bulls (suckers?) to get in when support has broken down. The VIX and VXN show high complacency and the danger of a reversal to the downside. I looks like a classic sucker rally, despite what the e-waves say.

And I'm probably wrong. Maybe even almost certainly wrong. The complacency indexes did suggest a rally, but not a sustained one by any means. What they basically suggested was a brief sucker rally.

Anyway, back to my bear hole. The market will defy any predictions. To say that the rally appears to be for real at this point strikes me as absurd. Shows what I know. Grouse, grouse, grouse. The idea that support would be broken and all would suddenly be well ... well it's just dandy. To me, it seems more likely that there'd be a last cattle call, to get out higher, go short and round up the last suckers. I live in ignorance, deluding myself with my conspiracy theories.
