RadiSys' CP30 Delivers CompactPCI-Based CPU Chassis in Small, 4U Package

HILLSBORO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 2001--RadiSys Corp. (Nasdaq:RSYS - news), a leading provider of building blocks enabling next-generation Internet and communications systems, today announced the availability of its 4U CompactPCI® CPU chassis.

Designed for a variety of OEM (original equipment manufacturer) applications that require high system performance -- including voice and data servers, SS7 applications, voice over Internet protocol servers and email servers -- the CP30 can be configured with a variety of CompactPCI-based building blocks from RadiSys.

These building blocks include high-performance Intel®-based system controllers; access devices and related SS7 adapters; and voice processing solutions. When configured with RadiSys' best-in-class building blocks, the CP30 gives OEMs an application-ready chassis, all designed in a small package, allowing them to realize a quicker time to market.

The CP30 comes equipped with a five-slot backplane that supports H.110 and features dual system slots and three peripheral expansion slots. It also supports rear transition I/O boards and gives OEMs central-office compliance in a small form factor.

The CP30's slim profile -- 432mm wide by 178mm tall (4U) by 305mm deep -- is small enough to be configured in a box-redundant, 2Nconfiguration. When used with mounting brackets, the CP30 fits nicely into a 19-inch rack-mount system. This increases rack density, which helps offset the expense of increasing floor space by minimizing shelf height requirements for applications that demand three peripheral expansion slots.

``As part of the RadiSys family of CompactPCI CPU chassis, our CP30 delivers a high-performance solution in a very small and easily integrated package,'' said Chris Melson, vice president and assistant general manager for RadiSys.

About CP30

Available as a standard product or in a perfect-fit configuration tailored to meet an OEM's exact specifications, RadiSys' CP30 features a hot-swappable fan tray, which conforms to PICMG's hot-swap specifications, and provides a minimum of 350 LFM to the dual system slots. An additional fan, which provides air in the horizontal plane to the power supply, meets the NEBS (Level 3) cooling standards. The CP30 accepts one 5.25-inch and two 3.5-inch mass storage devices. The CP30 comes with a two-year warranty and is now available.
