RE: "Teri assumed the same position as Cary is today, stating that AMAT was going into the teens."

I have stated that I will make equal dollar purchases of AMAT from $40 down to $25 at $2.50 increments. I also stated that I will try to "ratchet" down in this interval to lower my average cost. While I won't categorically rule out AMAT in the teens, I am not preparing for it. I have already made the $40 purchase and I announced I will sell it if this rally takes AMAT to $55.

Paul, re >It appears we are having a discussion repeated from 1996 and 1998 cycles< It's a little different because we had 3 flat months in SEMI orders this time. I did not expect that at all. suite101.com
Now the question is will the next orders number be higher or lower? At the cycle bottom it has been lower before.

If the July number, due in about 2 weeks, is lower the stock could go to the high 30s. But I really have no idea and it will only matter for those hoping to buy. Those who plan to hold for the cycle top price shouldn't care much what happens in between. Observe on the chart how orders took a rest on the way up from the V bottom in the past. If you're prepared for this it won't spook you.
