Bill, Re: "New products are appearing at a steady pace. Lets face it they are not as big as Intel by a long shot, but yet look at how they have affected Itel. If they were nothing, Intel would ignore them. The fact that Intel has been forced into this price war means AMD is a menace to Intel. Intel is scared."

I don't think that Intel's perception of AMD's threat is "nothing", nor do I think it is "menacing". It's probably somewhere between these objective qualities, yet you make it sound like it's one or the other. Intel is a paranoid bunch, but they didn't get to where they are by scrambling at the smallest of risks. This risk happens to be larger than others, so I'm sure it's not being ignored. It's no wonder you have such little faith in Intel if you have such unrealistic expectations of them.

We all know that Intel has been scramblin' for a couple years now but right about now they are feeling some relief.
A little cocky that they are getting to Northwood and SDRAM, DDR while giving up only 22-25% share.

What they don't realize is just how long this price war they created is going to last and how it's going to cause them to implode, especially since they are actually increasing production. Sure they can run AMD to no profit but the market will run them down to losses too...and they do not realize how long it will last.
