Re: "I am actually in favor of letting most of these mothers abort, as they are predominantly liberals and/or potential welfare mothers."

Unfortunately, from your point of view, most teen-age abortions today involve "Republican" girls ... suburban, above-average family income, white, sexually active.
It's culturally unacceptable for these families to raise a child out of wedlock, while the reverse is true for, say, a low-income Appalachian family.

In other words, a poor girl, at least where I live, is much less likely to have an abortion than a well-to-do girl.

Seems to me that Prolife has been preaching to the wrong people the past 12 months.

"This is particularly true when the opportunities for self-advancement are relatively meager, and one's individual interests and prospects do not seem worth living for. Such persons sooner or later turn their backs on an individual existence and strive to acquire a sense of worth and a purpose by an identification with a holy cause, a leader, or a movement."

Interesting.
