Christopher, I told you that you couldn't appreciate the concept as long as you had sex on the brain.

But family is not a legally defined term (other than by the Census bureau). Being a member of a family doesn't automatically entite you to any specific legal rights.

I know that. I'm presenting an idea here. Make "family" a legally defined term. Or use another term, like "home team" <g> or a made up word. I don't care what we call it. We can even call it "marriage." Parties to it would have rights and responsibilities along the lines of the parties to a marriage.
