Decribing a real issue like social security, and outlining a plan to improve the system isn't fear mongering

Packing a commission with supporters of privatization, then issuing a report that says the system will go broke in 2015, which assumes that the SS Trust Fund has been simply confiscated with no Governmental obligation, counts as fear mongering in my book. Also, Bush has repeatedly touted privitization as a "cure" for SS's low rate of returns, without mentioning that the current system is pay-as-you-go, and that any money diverted to private counts would have to be replaced, either by new tax money or by cutting benefits. Not an intelligent or rational discussion IMO.

Mike, as I read the posts I think fear mongering is in the eyes of the beholder. The current level of continuous whining and ranting, the tenor of the words. The rationale of emotion and ignorance. I have no doubt that many vacant liberal minds see our President as a satanic terrorist. They are more comfortable with a rapist than a reasonable considerate, compassionate man. From a rapist's viewpoint that may be the perspective. What else other than sheer total complete stupidity can explain what they say.
