Read McLuhan. That'll explain why radio is the medium of choice for ultra-right-wingers. Or to put it another way, FDR was a president for radio, JFK for TV. Think on that for a while, then extend the logic to people and media today.

Pat Buchanan, of all people, appeared before former Sen. Allen Simpson's government class at Harvard last year. C-Span broadcast it. Fascinating 90 minutes. The smart, uppity kids gave Buchanan their best shots, and Buchanan answered the questions honestly and delivered some good shots of his own. Very entertaining.

Would George W. Bush or Rush Limbaugh ever enter an arena like this? Hell no. Both only operate in very controlled environments with hand-picked audiences.

Also, I'm going to call you on your bluff. List the "numerous television formats" that you have seen Limbaugh in. I can recall only two: his short-lived TV show in which he referred to Chelsea as the White House dog, and in one-on-one softball interviews with the likes of Tim Russert.

I didn't say he was pathetic. You did.
