You don't stop doing the right thing just because communist countries don't sign on. Who expects them to do the right thing? And are we in a pollution competition with Red China? It's called leadership. We're also the leader in emitting greenhouse gases and consuming the world's resources. We have a responsibility therefore to lead now bow out and let the EU take over environmental leadership of the world. They will if they have to but next time we want a favor from them don't expect them to grant it. No accident they killed the GE-Honeywell merger than week too. Bush really has isolated us.
