I don't expect a $0 price, but I think once the short-term traders get tired of the stories and abandon this (notice that this is still actively-traded and is experiencing a 100% turnover every 40 trading days or so, i.e. about 5 or 6 complete turnovers a year), it will languish at levels that are 60% or 70% below current prices.

Then, at that point, if the bagholders are lucky, some company will buy up all the stocks at a premium of 30% when it is selling at a couple of bucks...

Cary: I couldn't agree more with you. Well said. We have too many hypers on JDSU. I'm a little leary of " wolfs in sheep skins" I don't beleive all of are friends properly represent their true interests. I'm trading JDSU on some technical indicators as well as some instincts concerning the companies market position, cash, ability to make what I consider to be solid tough mgmt decisions now that they're in a pickle. ie staff reductions, cleaning up phoney goodwill, etc. I also like the fact that everything including the kitchen sink has been thrown at them and it held a key support in the $8.00 level. I think 2001 is in the toilet for techs and any improvement in 02 over the horrible numbers in 01 will give techs a bit of a pop. I think the market will start turning its attention to 02 real soon. These are just a few of my thoughts and some of the reasons I went long.

I don't mind the shorts but I don't like posters that take glee in other investors losing their money. I know I've lost on plenty of investments over the years and you feel bad enough without someone making you feel like an idiot.

BTW I thought this was an excellent comment " For Merrill Lynch, it seems like its from JDSU execs. When JDSU said $450M, ML extended it 3 quarters and then predicted a small rise. When JDSU gave no guidance but said their reorg (layoffs) targeted a break even at $350M, ML started with JDSU beating break-even and moving up from there."

ML doesn't have a clue. Good Luck
