Stem cell research is going ahead with or without Bush. They're going to be able to clone the stuff by the yard. It's a Brave New World and too late to put the genie back in the bottle. Other advances to look forward to sound like creepy sci-fi but are already on their way, being able to genetically design your baby, clone away, etc. I'm sure there will always be people with money who will pay to clone themselves, families, lovers or pets. The churches may gripe but they're always slow to accept changes in the world, usually a hundred years behind the times. Like not allowing priests and nuns to marry. It's anyone's guess whether chastity makes you a better person. And the system ends up attracting a lot of closet homosexuals. Always has, always will. Just like the Boy Scouts, the military and single sex education. Complicated issues all of these and no one solution fits all.
