Patricia, UPS: I have only the monitor and the system itself on UPS. Peripherals like the printer and scanner are on their own. That way you can get along with a smaller and cheaper UPS.

A hint ---

In MS Word, click Tools, select Options..., and click Save tab. Put a check in the Save AutoRecovery box, and select a time that you're comfortable with. (I use 10 min)
