American Spirit does not understand that what you do makes you a conservationist, not what you keep other people from doing. He's more interested in the latter because he thinks he knows best.

Good for so. I was there too at the first Earth Day in Masachusetts. And I'm an Alaska NOLS graduate, their motto "Leave No Trace". Six weeks of survival training and 15 years later the Exxon-Valdez dumped its load there. NOLS will teach a kid everything about why the wilds are so important and why we mustn't disturb it for fututre generations for for its own good.

Look at the link on my last two posts for the new LA Times front page headline on the Bush-Cheney Big Lie on Energy in the West. They want almost every last bit of the Wild West to go in and devastate. All for what? Not nearly as much gas and oil as they claim. And if they lie about this, they are lying about everything else too, figures from the National Petroleum COuncil which is supposed to be non-partisan but is run by the energy CEO's themselves. This is one of the journalists I've been communicating with.
