True my post only addressed the corporate market. But XP is a corporate product. It is also a consumer product.

But it is in the corporate world where software upgrades drive PC sales whereas in the consumer market it is less of a factor. Other more important factors are how far behind the performance curve the consumer's current PC is and how much money the consumer has. Win95 may have driven some consumer sales, but that is cos it was replacing a crap product. OK win95 and 98 are still crap but those that notice and would consider XP are in part already using 2000.

My business is only involved with the corporate market so if u r selling to consumers then you will know more on this subject and may want to correct me.
