Simply, Dell is a sly dog. He knows about single source and AMD but he lets the other OEMs do the dirty work to get prices down and suckers Intel into good prices by staying faithful to them.
If Intel chips were twice the cost of AMD chips to him them he'd buy AMD chips in a minute.
