Tony, who really works in the industry knows that parts that work over a wider temperature range are MORE, not LESS desirable, and that they carry higher price tags. Your remark is really comical.

Not comical when you consider reliability. The hotter you have to run chips, the worse long term reliability becomes. I'm not saying it's not goodness when chips can run hotter, it's just good to give them a lot of headroom. By the way, I'm "in the industry", and RAS is one of the areas I've worked in a lot.

And, BTW, Intel parts don't even work out to 85 degC.

Those were some PIII Coppermines that were up against the limit of being able to be pushed anymore.
