Tony - Re: "Paul, if Hector walks the plank, and JSIII kicks himself upstairs or downstairs, who'll run AMD? "

My prediction - As AMD slides into losses with constantly delayed products and watches Intel ZOOM past them in the GHz and speed race, Clean Kill Sanders will swoop down from his perch, fire Six/Seven Figure Hector - and proclaim himself the once and future SAVIOUR of AMD - and recant his retirement.

Clean Kill will be around for a LONG TIME - pulling ALL THE STRINGS at AMD.

By the way, I have heard a rumour that AMD will vacate their rented digs in Sunnyvale and MOVE their HEADQUARTERS to Austin, Texas.

Paul

Tony & Everyone - For a trip down Memory Lane, check out the following Web Site:

bricklin.com

"Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the IBM PC Announcement"

Dan Bricklin - the originator of VisiCalc - has posted a Photographic ChronoLog of this Celebration event (the launch of the Original IBM PC) from last week.

It has a lot of photos - but I have a Cable Modem - and they downloaded "almost instantaneously" - your mileage may vary.
