From the American Presidency by Groliers

A quote attributed to JFK (5 years before becoming President)answering critics who complained that he was not a "true liberal" was that "I'd be very happy to tell them that I'm no liberal at all." O.K. the article in the same paragraph then says that JFK adopted some "mildly liberal" positions on domestic issues soon after making the quote.

Remember, that as rich kids, the Kennedys were very anti communist - didn't Brother Bobby work for Joseph McCarthy (I seem to recall that McCarthy's two key aides were Roy Cohn and RFK)?

I have a feeling that JFK would be very comfortable with the current Pope.
