Could this be:

-- first ramp up for Christmas sales?
-- an increase over a terribly low preceding month?

Namaste!

Rumor I head is Cisco is ordering from subcontractors... someone else told me it was for high end routers so not significant... but who knows? ANY orders are good.

Also, many companies are on a 3 yr PC upgrade cycle. Many, like me, bought in 1999 before Y2K as we didn't want the century date change to shut down our business rather tiny (like mine) or huge (like IBM or GE). Guess what? Our PCs are going to need upgrading in 2002 if we stay on the cycle (I'd actually like more power now if the new OS allows more resources to be used).

I heard this weekend that Intel is going to give employees money to buy a new PC every 3 yrs. I know that Ford is already doing this. Give them PCs and they can get company email at home and read it on personal time.... not a dumb move.

Asia is buying PCs... Good growth there.

Too many people are waiting for Cary's targets to hit to buy more. I am ONLY adding to my AMAT position if it hits a very good price and I don't expect it to hit that price... but I think many know these are great companies so the bottom is in.
