What you miss is more fundamental. When a political subject is opened up and explored thoroughly by a host and thousands of listeners for hours on end with no time limit, standard liberal cliches and catch phrases just don't hold up. Liberal cliches and catch phrases are designed to be emotional reflexes for the ignorant. Informed listeners by nature lean to the right.
