I've been battling a problem for 24 hours that I was blaming on the last NAV
update. It dam near drove me nuts. It turns out it wasn't NAV at all. I did call
them, after waiting 20 minutes they were helpful. They had no other reported
problems from the 8/8 update so it was obviously something unique to my
machine. They did spend about 8 minutes helping me troubleshoot establishing
it was unlikely NAV but not solving my problem. He told me to try contacting
Netscape and if they couldn't help he gave me an incident # and said to call back.
The problem was Netscape was opening for a few seconds than closing.
A few minutes after I hung up with him I finally solved the problem, the culprit was
Noads. If a popup ad doesn't have a title it shows up in the "Currently open windows"
pane as just "Netscape". If you add such a popup to your 'Windows targeted by
Noads" pane. netscape can't open. I can't believe how many hours I wasted solving
such a simple problem. I wasn't going to bother posting about it but I wouldn't want
to see anyone go through what I did.
