Don,

I saw my first eMachines P4 at Fry's Electronics today. Price was advertised as $599 (after $400 rebate on Compuserve or somebody service initialization). It came with 128M RDRAM, a 40G drive, a modem, and both a combo DVD/CD-RW drive and a regular CD drive. There was no price on a separate monitor.

Also, I saw the Pioneer DVD-RW drive advertised in their newspaper insert this weekend for $799.
