The ECB refused to drop interest rates because inflation there is greater than 2%. What integrity! And such a refreshing change from Greenspan, who is furiously pounding rates toward zero in the face of inflation that is hovering near 4%! It's interesting that the Germans are behaving like responsible adults, while Americans are acting like the stupid, greedy children we are....

Rumor has it that Greenspan is going to retire. Hooray! Better late than never! Now that his ineptitude has gotten us into a global recession, blasted the money-supply aggregates into orbit thus ensuring big inflation, and elevated the dangers of rampant moral hazard beyond belief, some other poor sucker will have to come in and take the heat for the mess that Greenspan created. What cowardice.
