"It's illogical.

It is not illogical. There was a battle of the sexes and everybody lost. What is so confusing?

SR talked about this a while back, as a single father he tried to go to a mother's group and was made to feel very unwelcome.

That was billed as a single parents group; if they'd said mothers, I wouldn't have gone. The problem was that some of the women hadn't anticipated the idea of a male single parent.

I recall an incident in college... after the campus women's center had agitated successfully for a resolution disallowing the use of student activity fees or university resources by any group that discriminated according to gender, some men (well, boys, really) suggested that the women's center be removed from the funding and resources list on the grounds of sexual discrimination. Of course the girls blew a gasket. Silly thing, really. What they should have done was declared that any man was welcome to join, since none would want to anyway.
