Albert, <<<great argument and I can only wish that would really work in real life>>>

That is the whole point. That is how it works in real life. Committees are lousy at coming to great conclusions. It is very difficult to get four or more people to agree on anything.

If you are the CEO and have to make a very important decision, you better know the subject matter and be able to evaluate all the technical points of view put in front of you.

Whether soi is viable or not, is the kind of decision Craig Barrett has been trained his entire life to make.

I have been critical of Craig Barrett for decisions that have to do with marketing and finance. In those areas he had to rely on the likes of Andy Bryant and others - in committee fashion.

Lou Gerstner is probably very good at making decisions that have to do with finance.

Jerry Sanders, I beleive is a trained thespian. He would probably be very good from a central casting point of view, ie, who is to act which role.
