What do you mean my lack of knowledge? I just read two books on genetics yesterday and 10 pages in Time magazine about stem cells today. Private funding will continue on. England has legalized government funding. Germany and Japan have similar laws as Bush has proposed but those will weaken in time. I believe many people will be better educated and will be very tolerant of stem cell research. Heck, even Nancy Reagan is for it. Pklenty more where she cam from too. The issue deals with microscopic cells and fertilized eggs, not foetuses, and is nowhere near as controversial as abortion. Frankly I don't see the big issue is. Stem cells can be cloned which means with one squirt and a single egg and we could all produce thousands of stem cells which might save someone's life. Might as well call birth control murder because of the "potential human life" you've terminated. (And thank God or I'd have 300 kids by now). Making it partially illegal only complicates things and raises the prices for the people who need it. Lastly, I think abortions and such should be the decisions of women, not men. Men trying to tell females how and when to give birth smacks of old-fashioned sexism. And ironically most anti-abortoin activists are conservative men. Go figure. I just don't get those guys. What are they really scared of? Female reproductive power? Are they out there devoting their lives to helping orphans find homes? No, almost never. So it's hypocritical. Hey guys, we're already half expendable already so get used to it. Women have it tough. Lower wages, having to deliver and care for kids, often getting no help from us unless they're good looking. And unless they're naturally beautiful spending all that time and money trying to look good. Plus menstruation every month, not being able to change a tire. Give them a break. Consider it chivalry.
