Maurice, Allow me to be the first to point out that the Okavongo is in Botwsana, not Namibia. Caveat: since the delta is geographic rather than political, I suppose it is possible that the delta might extend into Namibia on occasion, but Botwsana is the country you should go to if you want to see the Okavongo. It is a stunning place to visit and has avoided most of the excesses of much of Africa, although I don't think I would like to live there. On the otherhand, both South Africa and Zimbabwe have areas with very livable climates. That's why so many Europeans emigrated there. South Africa, in particular has everything one could desire in terms of beauty of mountains, oceans and plains; and cities too. It's a pity that both South Africa and Zimbabwe have got things that can negate their attractions. Ashley
